Sodium stearate, our first ingredient being presented. Most people know about sodium and it's abundance in the making of salt but as far sodium goes, that's about as much as people know. Because of it's abundance, it's become versatile with other chemicals,so, we're going to our review one of sodium's combinations, sodium stearate. Starting off slow, we have it's chemical name which is sodium octadecanoate. It's chemical formula is C18H35NaO. As for it's health effects, sodium stearate is probably one of the most abundant and safe ingredients used within cleaning products such as soap, deodorant, eye shadow, shaving cream, etc. Sodium stearate is a major part of of production for cleaning products such as soap and deodorant upon the conversion of oils and fats. Tallow is especially high in this chemical combination, tallow is a rendered form of beef or mutton and is primarily made of triglycerides.Purified sodium stearate can be made by neutralizing stearic acid with sodium hydroxide. Properties of sodium stearate include its molar mass which is 306.466 g·mol−1, its appearance is white solid, and its density is 1.02 g/cm. The purpose of including this ingredient is to show it's importance in not only this product but in a lot of other self-care and hygiene products.
